My mom taught me at a young age how to crochet and she also attempted to try to help me learn to knit.  I picked up on the crocheting pretty quickly but the knitting not so much.  Since my children are now at the age where they all go to school during the day..... I decided I would make a 2nd attempt at knitting.... this time it was more successful.  I have really enjoyed crocheting and knitting different projects with my Mom.  We have gotten a few patterns from etsy.com that we have done.  These are some of them.
Some slippers for my girls.  Now some of their friends have been asking for some, they make great gifts.  :)

Some slippers for my boy.  After making my girls some slippers, Garret decided he wanted some and of course I can't leave my boy out.  My Mom helped me find a pattern that was boyish.  Garret loves these slippers I made for him.
I have had several friends and family members that either have had a baby girl recently or are soon going to have a baby girl.  I had so much fun making these little booties for their sweet baby girls.  Thanks Mom for having patience to teach me how to crochet and knit!!

My dear friend Shannon is so amazing!!  I love spending a few hours a week crafting with her.  It is something I always look forward too.  She is one of the craftiest ladies I know and has a ton of crafting supplies always waiting to be used up.  We got together and did some 4th of July banners out of burlap and it only took about 15 minutes, they turned out darling.  They were SO easy and cost little money.  That's Shannon for you,  the girl knows how to make a master piece for little or no cost.

                                                                        I LOVE it!!!

This is my new 4th of July wreath that I am so excited about!!  Thanks to Shannon!!  I told her I wanted to make a 4th of July wreath to hang on my door and immediately she got busy pulling things from her closets and home decor that she was no longer using.  She helped me put this together in 10 minutes and I am so excited about it!!  Burlap, old rusty star, twine, american flag, 4th of July garland and my brilliant friends talent and BAM I have a masterpiece hanging on my front door.

We spent Father's Day with two of the greatest fathers, my Dad and my Hubby.  We ate enchiladas (Hubbies favorite) and strawberry shortcake (Daddys favorite).  We had a nice day, I sure love those men in my life.  This is the gift basket my children put together for their Dad.  He loved it!!
The basket is filled with beef jerkey, gum, mints, york peppermint patties, pistachios, midget pickles, and money.  The can of mixed nuts wouldn't fit.  :)  We got the free printables off of pinterest.

This is what the kids did last year.  You can't read it very well in the picture but this is what it says.

We know you feel poor because it's not "Pay Day" but we wanted you to know that be "Twix" us kids we think you are "Mounds" of fun.  "Look" we are so happy you are not in New "York" for fathers day.  We are so glad Mom thought you were a "Big Hunk" and married you because we "Skor" having you as a Dad!!  We may not live on "5th avenue" but having you as our Dad is like a "Symphony".  We aren't "nerds" to say that we love you so much and there is no"snickers" about it!!  Love your "sugar babies"  Happy Fathers Day!!

I am so grateful to have such a great father who taught me so much growing up.  I always was a daddy's girl.  He is the most kind, non-judgmental, loving man I know.  I love you Dad!!

I am also very blessed to have such an amazing Dad for my children!!  He always makes sure we have FHE every Monday night and reads scriptures almost every night (without fail) with our children.  He works hard to provide for our family so that my life long dream of being a stay at home Mom has been fulfilled.  I love you Jeff.  Okay that was hard for me, I have a hard time expressing my feelings because I always feel like I sound cheesy.  :)

Soda pop tab bracelets

Have I told you how much I LOVE pinterest?  I love pinterest!  I love all the cool ideas they have on there.  Me and my girls have been wanting to try making bracelets out of soda pop tabs and after months of collecting them....we finally got one made today.  We used about 28 soda pop tabs and 4 feet of ribbon cut in half.  Next time I think I will use thinner ribbon or even some cord.  It was fun and here is the finished product.

Today is "Treat Tuesday or Take a Trip Tuesday" we made a treat.  My sisters recipe for marshmallow popcorn was the treat today and it was oh so yummy!!!  It was so yummy, that I am going to have to drink water the rest of the day because I have already met my calories for the day.

Here is the recipe....very simple

2 bags of microwave popped popcorn
1 C. butter
1/2 C. White Corn Syrup
1 1/4 C. sugar
1/2 tsp. vanilla
3 C. Marshmallows

Cook popcorn according to microwave directions and place in bowl avoiding any of the unpopped kernels to get into the bowl.  Add three cups of marshmallows to the popcorn and set aside.

Melt butter in sauce pan, when melted, add corn syrup and sugar.  Let this come to a rolling boil, stir constantly and let boil for 1 minute.  After boiling for 1 minute at a rolling boil remove from heat and add vanilla to the mixture.  Poor this finished mixture over the popcorn and marshmallows and mix together completely.  Enjoy!!

Okay I am still trying out this new blog frenzy and not catching on too quickly.  I tried to do a post last night without my dear friend Shannon helping along the way and it wasn't successful...It never posted.  Here it goes for the second time.  :)

We are trying something new this summer....an idea I got off of pinterest.  We have a theme for each day during the week.  Monday is "Master Piece Monday" this day we do a craft project, artwork, science experience ect....  We made these little insects from cut up egg cartons and other art supplies.  My kids spent a whole afternoon making these and had fun.

Garret had fun playing with these little critters after he made them.  :)  His poor face got scratched up falling off the slide at the playground.  :(

Even our teenager had fun doing this!!  I can't believe she is a teenager.  sniff sniff

Welcome to the new life and times of the Pearson family. L.I.F.E is a 4 letter word and we are loving every minute of it. Sometimes it gets absolutely insane but it's our life. This is my attempt to document each step along the way. Follow me on a grand adventure of raising 2 princesses and 1 prince in a world of turmoil and danger. We will slay dragons and scale towers while singing and dancing......sounds like the life for us!....now if I can only keep up!!!!

Thanks to my wonderful friend Shannon for helping me set this up.  She wrote the Beautiful post above, I think she should be a writer.  If you know me, you know I am not much of a writer so things like this are hard for me.  I am kind of a private person as well but I think it will be fun to go out of my comfort zone a little and try blogging.  We will see how long it last and how well I can keep up.  :)
